Plaza District Welcomes Selena Skorman as New Executive Director
The Plaza District is thrilled to announce its new Executive Director, Selena Skorman.
Selena was born and raised in the small town of Shelby, North Carolina. In 2012, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. After graduating, she worked as a research assistant at the Urban Institute, a community think tank in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she evaluated nonprofits and conducted educational policy research.
Three years ago, she moved to Oklahoma City, which she says is the best decision she has ever made. Selena started at Arts Council OKC as a Development Coordinator and was promoted to Director of Development in 2015. Now, she is honored to join the Plaza District team. She is extremely grateful and excited for this experience and can’t wait to hit the ground running!
"It is an honor to be able to serve as the Executive Director of the Plaza District Association," Selena said. "I stand on the shoulders of giants - amazing people who came before me and helped revitalize this special district. I hope to continue the mission of promoting the district, encouraging investment in the district, and working with community partners and stakeholders to sustain the district's artsy, local charm. If you need anything Plaza related, just holler!"
