Volunteer of the Month - Randy Cassimus

Our May Volunteer of the Month is Randy Cassimus! Randy currently serves as the Plaza District Association Board President. He also serves as Chairman for PDA's Friends of the Plaza committee.

"I think my favorite things about the Plaza are the energy of the area which continues to increase and the vibe which stays consistently true as the district evolves" says Randy, "things that really are testament to the efforts of a lot of wonderful, passionate people – our board, our current and former Executive Directors and staff, our business and property owners, and, of course, our great Friends of the Plaza group who support the district with their patronage and volunteerism."|

When asked what made made him get involved, Randy said, "When Sandra and I moved to Gatewood eleven years ago, we hoped that maybe someday we might have a fraction of the offerings that exist in the Plaza today. We never imagined our little neighborhood exploding the way it has. Thankfully, others had that vision – and we’ve just been happy to roll up our sleeves and help."

Randy works in Alumni Relations and Community Development at Oklahoma City Community College. He is also a working musician, has his own small video production business, and volunteers with Bricktown Rotary, the Oklahoma City Arts Council, St. Luke’s Methodist Church, deadCENTER Film Festival and more.

Thank you for all you do for the Plaza District and Oklahoma City, Randy!
