We love seeing hardworking members of the Plaza family being recognized around the community. This month, we were excited to see so many deserving Plaza people and businesses receive honors.
okc.BIZ 40 Under 40
Plaza District Association board member, as well as owner of The Pritchard and Well Beauty, and partner in Sweet Sixteenth LLC, which is responsible for much of the development in the Plaza District, Aimee Ahpeatone was recently awarded okc.BIZ's 40 under 40. The Forty Under 40 program honors exceptional individuals who have made a significant contribution to shaping the Oklahoma City landscape.
NextGen's Under 30
NextGen Under 30 recognizes and encourages the next generation of innovative, creative, and inspiring individuals who push the boundaries in various categories of endeavor. We are proud of Plaza District Association's Executive Director, Cayla Lewis, and Owner of Everything Goes Dance Studio, Erika Reyes, for recipients of this year's award.
Mark Costello Entrepreneurial Excellence Award
Earlier this November, Empire Slice House, was the recipient of the Mark Costello Entrepreneurial Award, awarded by the Oklahoma Labor Commission and Labor Commissioner Melissa McLawhorn Houston. “I am delighted to present Empire Slice House with this award,” Houston said. “The restaurant has quickly become a staple in the community and has served as a catalyst to the Plaza District’s rapid growth.”
Maybe not as serious of an award as the awards mentioned above, but nonetheless, we love celebrating Plaza District businesses. The Plazies is our annual roast/silly/fun awards event for Plaza District businesses! The awards are nominated by Plaza District businesses. Some of this year's awards included, "Cleanest Restrooms in the District" and " Best Shoplifting Shamer". We'll let you guess who won those.
