Coming mid summer 2012 to a Plaza District near you, OKC’s tastiest hang out. Serving a full menu from lunch til’ late and specializing in the art of the grilled cheese. Hours: lunch til late!
We are very excited to announce the Plaza District newest restaurant and bar, The Mule, another addition to the growing “dine and drink” experience in the Plaza District. The Mule’s menu will focus on grilled cheese and hot melt sandwiches, and a full bar will compliment good eats and conversation. The Blackwelder Studios ground level, currently under renovation, will be home to The Mule with indoor as well as outdoor dining. “The Mule is an exciting addition to our growing district” says Executive Director of the Plaza District Association, Kristen Vails, “we are looking forward to their presence making the district an even better destination for a local experience in art, dining and shopping!”

Shop Plaza Black Friday!
We just have to admit it…it’s that time. Holiday shopping is in full swing! To kick off the holiday shopping season, the Plaza District is asking you to Shop Local, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday . Skip the madness, skip the crazy crowds and enjoy a relaxed, fun and community oriented day after Thanksgiving. Drive through the historic neighborhoods of Oklahoma City, enjoying the last of fall colors and the greatness of the quirky little commercial district on 16th street. Family in town for the holiday? The Plaza District is a great place to show off the progress of your city and spend quality time shopping local! Come home with great gifts and a sense of pride for supporting local businesses on Black Friday! Free Cafe Evoke Coffee Bar at Convergence will warm you up as well, 10am-1pm!
You can also participate in our Shop Local Holiday Art Installation! Simply ask for the copy of your receipt to be donated to the project at any Plaza business. You will make a note to place along with your receipt about the business your purchased it from, why you love shopping local, the person you are shopping for—whatever–make it personal so you can come back and find it in the installation! Be sure to black out personal card info/#s. We will then hang the receipts in the vacant storefront next to Bad Granny’s in a holiday display of local love! We’ll photograph the window each week and report the tallies on twitter and facebook!
