LIVE on the Plaza gets LOVELY
Monthly artwalk celebrates romance with local twist
LIVE on the Plaza 2nd Friday, presented and sponsored by Fowler Volkswagen of Norman, will be transformed into LOVE on the Plaza, celebrating this over commercialized holiday with a local twist! Whether you and your date are looking for a fun, quirky night out, or you’re hitting the town with friends, romance will abound by way of local art and creative flavor at LOVE on the Plaza.
The SPYwagen will be home to the LOVE on the Plaza photo booth from 7-9PM, so make sure you and your date (or friends, family or pup!) snuggle into the SPYwagen and capture the moment. Photos will be uploaded online for free online downloads, and prints available for sale. Special thanks to Maria Dru Photography, Fowler Volkswagen and The SPY for the LOVE on the Plaza photo booth!
Not afraid to show a little PDA? Snap your own smooches for the LOVE on the Plaza Kiss Cam! Post pics on twitter to @plazadistrict and @FowlerVW for your chance to win a prize courtesy of FowlerVW!
Next, Cole Dewey Design is hosting a performance art group from Dallas called “The Gay Agenda”. The Gay Agenda is performance art designed to foster love…and purposely designed to be boring. The group will set up a “home” in Cole Dewey Design’s storefront. Two men will inhabit the space as a couple for the weekend, performing routine tasks: vacuuming the carpet, making coffee, reading the paper, playing cards with friends, ordering pizza, watching TV, etc.. No intimacy beyond what might be acceptable for any heterosexual couple in public will be presented; i.e., it will be limited to casual contact — hand-holding, an arm around each other, a casual kiss hello/goodbye. Come see this unique and impactful performance piece!
Feeling creative? “Show Your Love for Lyric” this Valentine’s Day. Create your own Valentine’s Day card, letter, and painting, whatever you feel like creating to express your love for Lyric. At 8PM in front of the Plaza Theatre your Valentine’s creation in the contest. The winner of the contest will receive two tickets to see Lyric’s production of SPRING AWAKENING at the Plaza Theatre!
