FANCLUB is an Oklahoma City based art collective consisting of emerging and expanding artists who have joined creative forces and divergent interests to shape art events that are fantastic and engrossing. The founding five members of FANCLUB met while in the University of Central Oklahoma’s Fine Arts program. The February show will consist primarily of printmaking, including screen-printing, serigraphy, monotype and woodcut.

FANCLUB will also have live demonstrations of printmaking during the Opening Night event.

Preston Pettigrew, is an Oklahoma City artist whose work is predominantly sculptural and investigates environmental and social themes through a variety of media.

Jamie Paddock began her artistic process while camping with her family, and primarily derives inspiration from the greed of mankind’s effect on nature.

Das, an untrained and enigmatic artist who contacted the group via the internet, makes memorial paintings for fictional characters whose lives have been tarnished by that of the real people who portrayed them.

Cartoonist Jackson Edge’s work explores the origins of the artist’s attraction to ideas of degenerate behavior culled from comic books and animation.

Arkansan performance artist and printmaker Una explores how different groups of people interact with one another and memorializes personal experiences with a healthy dose of toilet humor.

All of the art made by FANCLUB is meant to be tactile and more challenging than what can usually be found in the local art scene. FANCLUB wishes to truly engage the outlooks of local arts patrons with their warped worldviews, and try to at least dislodge them.

Stephen Kovash, owner of Istvan Gallery recently changed his business plan to move from a “storefront” gallery to work more directly with emerging artists and those looking for creative and business support for their artistic careers and events. The FANCLUB show is the first of many exciting upcoming arts events in his “Arts Incubator.” The Arts Incubator, hosted by “The Barn” is a venue where up and coming artists can learn the craft of installing and presenting shows as well as having a quality space to show their work.

“The Barn” is a 1907 homestead renovated in 2014 by developers Jeff and Aimee Struble. The Barn is a “Creative office space where you can work for yourself, not by yourself - in a bright interactive community.” The Barn offers private and open work spaces along with lounging spots and stand up bars to work from. There is are meeting and conference rooms and a coffee bar with organic teas, snacks, microwave and fridge. Barn is located in the historic Plaza District in the heart of Oklahoma City.

The FANCLUB art installation at The Barn will preview with an artists’ reception Friday, February 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. The show will continue through April 2016.

The opening reception is free, open to the public and will include entertainment, light hors d'oeuvres and beverages.
